Technician-Mechanic, Garage Door Repair & Installation
Overview
You will own the full lifecycle of garage door service, repair, and installation for residential customers in the Sacramento area. 5+ years of hands-on mechanical troubleshooting and customer-facing repair work is required. You will join a direct-hire team that invests in technician training and promotes long-term growth. Repair, install, and diagnose garage doors and openers, while building trust with customers. This role balances independent field work with a supportive leadership culture.
What You'll Do6
- 1Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair garage doors, openers, and related hardware on residential sites.
- 2Install new garage doors and garage door openers for residential customers, ensuring proper alignment and function.
- 3Diagnose repair needs, explain service options, and provide written estimates covering materials and scope.
- 4Communicate with customers in person, by phone, and by email about repair status, estimates, and completion timelines.
- 5Complete every job in compliance with safety requirements, building codes, and company quality standards.
- 6Coordinate with management to resolve scheduling conflicts and support same-day installation needs.
Requirements7
- 15+ years of mechanic or technician experience on mechanical systems, preferably garage doors or similar hardware.
- 2Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical failures, including openers, springs, and cables.
- 3Strong customer communication skills for explaining estimates and service options.
- 4Valid driver's license and ability to travel daily to residential job sites in the Sacramento area.
- 5Comfort working independently in the field, managing your own time and job flow.
- 6Willingness to participate in company-provided technician training for garage door systems.
- 7Ability to lift heavy materials and work in varied weather conditions.
