Overview
The General Manager oversees daily operations of a San Diego funeral home and two branches. This role leads DSM departments ensures compliance and drives customer satisfaction through team leadership and community engagement.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build and supervise funeral directors and arrangers while meeting profit goals
- 2Manage labor costs and schedules across multiple locations
- 3Maintain compliance with OSHA FTC and harassment policies
- 4Conduct weekly staff huddles and quarterly meetings to align teams
- 5Handle client interactions and promote brand relationships
- 6Oversee facility maintenance and vendor relationships
- 7Recruit train and mentor funeral professionals
- 8Monitor P&L and develop pricing strategies with the president
- 9Ensure accurate client records and payment processing
- 10Lead evening and night staff to deliver exceptional service
- 11Develop employee programs and foster a family oriented culture
Requirements5
- 15+ years managing funeral homes and branches
- 2Bachelor`s degree in hospitality or related field
- 3Valid state funeral director license preferred
- 43-5 seasons leading teams in service environments
- 5Proven ability to balance financial metrics with compassionate leadership
