Fuel Contract Analyst, Aviation Procurement
Overview
You will own fuel contract administration and procurement support for Allegiant's flight operations, managing agreements worth millions and coordinating with suppliers, tax, and accounting teams. You will work directly with the Manager of Fuel Procurement to track contract terms, support RFPs, and update pricing across fuel management systems. This role sits at the intersection of finance, operations, and market intelligence, giving you exposure to Platts, Argus, and OPIS indexes. You will drive accuracy in contract data and be the key escalation point for fuel contract administrators. This is a hands-on, detail-critical role that shapes procurement strategy for a national airline.
What You'll Do16
- 1Administer fuel supply, into-plane, storage, and service contracts, tracking terms, expirations, renewals, and extensions.
- 2Flag upcoming contract actions to the Manager of Fuel Procurement and support reviews, amendments, and documentation.
- 3Support annual and ad-hoc fuel RFPs by gathering data, preparing bid analyses, and documenting results.
- 4Compare supplier proposals, pricing structures, and service options to support sourcing strategies.
- 5Coordinate with fuel suppliers during sourcing events, clarifications, and follow-ups.
- 6Implement awarded contracts by coordinating internal setup and vendor onboarding documentation.
- 7Monitor jet fuel market data from Platts, Argus, and OPIS to prepare weekly and monthly pricing updates.
- 8Track market trends and supplier activity to identify cost-saving or risk-mitigation opportunities.
- 9Assist with fuel tax research covering sales, excise, and airport-specific taxes, and coordinate with Tax and Accounting.
- 10Maintain fuel vendor and airport contact information, and support supplier relationship management.
- 11Coordinate with internal teams (Accounting, Tax, QA, Airport Services, OCC, Dispatch, IT) for contract setup and data accuracy.
- 12Ensure fuel contract data in fuel management systems is accurate, updating pricing, terms, and effective dates.
- 13Document standard work, procedures, and controls for fuel contracting activities.
- 14Arrange fuel releases for ad-hoc charters, diversions, aircraft deliveries, and maintenance events.
- 15Support month-end close activities by validating contract terms, pricing, tax treatments, and service components.
- 16Supervise fuel contract administrators, assigning work, reviewing accuracy, training, and serving as escalation point.
Requirements14
- 13+ years in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- 2Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- 4Strong work ethic, well organized, self-starter with ability to prioritize.
- 5Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable, high accuracy.
- 6Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- 7Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- 8Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

- 10Must pass a Criminal Background Check and be authorized to work in the US.
- 11Preferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management.
- 12Preferred: Experience in petroleum or airline industry.
- 13Preferred: Knowledge of petroleum pricing, fuel supply, distribution, refining, or trading.
- 14Preferred: Basic accounting principles and data analysis skills.
