Overview

Coordinate fruit fly eradication efforts within a dynamic agricultural program. Manage trapping surveys and pest detection initiatives while maintaining operational efficiency.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Follow established protocols for trapping and survey work
  • 2Safely operate and maintain a motor vehicle to travel to designated work areas
  • 3Service traps perform insect sweeps and visually inspect local plant hosts for target pest damage
  • 4Remove suspect plant and insect samples from foliage or from a variety of insect collection tools and check for target pests
  • 5Draw and follow maps when performing field activities using GPS technology
  • 6Maintain site location and sample integrity
  • 7Keep daily reports of work completed including number of traps serviced and acreage surveyed
  • 8Screen wet and dry traps for target pests and examine contents for preliminary identification
  • 9Take prescribed action when a target pest is identified such as drawing a map and completing a Pest Detection Report
  • 10Initiate contact with property owners to conduct visual surveys or carry out eradication activities
  • 11Drive and enter/exit vehicles multiple times throughout the workday

  • 2Valid Driver's License with good driving record

  • 4Self-Starter and proactive
  • 5Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 6Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • 7Must be at least 21 years old to rent a car from Enterprise
