Front End Entry Level - Tom Thumb Dallas
Overview
You will own the customer experience at the checkout and on the floor, handling transactions, bagging groceries, and guiding shoppers to the right aisle. You'll work with POS systems, price scanners, and payment terminals as part of a store team of 50-100 associates. Tom Thumb provides paid weekly, flexible schedules, and access to earned wages before payday. This role builds a foundation for retail leadership, with on-the-job training and online learning through Albertsons.
What You'll Do8
- 1Greet customers and direct them to products, building store familiarity in the first 30 days.
- 2Operate POS registers and payment terminals to process cash, card, and mobile transactions accurately.
- 3Bag groceries with care, placing heavy items first and fragile items on top to reduce damage.
- 4Keep checkout and entry areas clean, removing spills and hazards to meet OSHA safety standards.
- 5Stock shelves and rotate perishable items using FIRST IN, FIRST OUT (FIFO) method.
- 6Answer customer questions about product locations and store policies, escalating to a supervisor when needed.
- 7Maintain 5+ hours of standing and walking per shift, lifting up to 50 pounds.
- 8Follow Albertsons security procedures to prevent theft and ensure a safe environment.
Requirements8
- 1No prior experience required; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 21+ year of customer service or retail experience is a plus but not mandatory.
