Front Desk Receptionist Medical Office Bilingual
Overview
You will own patient reception and front-desk operations at Genesis Orthopedics & Sports Medicine, a multi-location orthopedic practice in the Chicago area. You will handle check-in/check-out, insurance verification, and scheduling for a high-volume clinical team. You will work on-site, Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts, across three clinic locations. This role demands bilingual fluency in English and Spanish and Epic EHR experience is highly valued. You will directly impact patient experience from the first greeting to final check-out.
What You'll Do9
- 1Greet patients and manage check-in/check-out, ensuring all paperwork, prior authorizations, and guarantor information is complete.
- 2Verify insurance coverage before appointments and collect co-pays, self-pay balances, and other billing payments.
- 3Schedule, confirm, and follow up on patient appointments using Epic EHR.
- 4Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, updating demographic and insurance data as needed.
- 5Collaborate with clinical staff and off-site support to coordinate patient care.
- 6Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and patient-ready at all times.
- 7Assist clinical staff with administrative tasks, including scanning, faxing, and filing.
- 8Manage incoming calls and patient inquiries, providing clear and compassionate communication.
- 9Handle walk-in patients and urgent scheduling requests, adjusting to daily clinic needs.
Requirements9
- 12+ years in a medical front desk or customer service role (medical office experience required).
- 2Insurance verification experience required.
- 3Fluent in English and Spanish (required for patient interaction).
- 4High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- 5Epic EHR experience preferred.
- 6Orthopedic front desk experience preferred.
- 7Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- 8Ability to multitask and remain composed in a busy environment.
- 9Proficiency in scheduling systems and basic computer applications.
