Front Desk Receptionist & Dog Handler
Overview
You own the front desk at Easy Wag, greeting clients and managing daycare, boarding, and grooming bookings. You also step into the playroom to supervise dogs, using 2+ years of handling experience to keep every pup safe. You work with a tight-knit team in a dog-first environment where customer service and animal care matter equally. This role blends reception duties with hands-on dog handling, ideal for someone who thrives on variety.
What You'll Do6
- 1Greet clients and visitors with a warm, professional demeanor, answering questions about services and pet care.
- 2Manage appointment scheduling, check-ins, and check-outs using Pet Exec to coordinate daycare, boarding, and grooming slots.
- 3Handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments, applying restraint techniques and reading dog body language to prevent incidents.
- 4Clean the daycare area and front desk to maintain a hygienic space for staff and animals.
- 5Verify that all dogs meet vaccination requirements for daycare, boarding, and grooming.
- 6Support the team during peak hours by filling shifts in the playroom and assisting with dog supervision.
Requirements8
- 12+ years of professional dog handling or training experience.
- 21+ year of front desk or customer service experience.
- 3Demonstrated patience and confidence with animals of all temperaments.
- 4Strong animal handling skills, including safe restraint techniques.
- 5Ability to read and interpret dog body language to prevent altercations.
- 6Familiarity with core vaccinations for daycare, boarding, and grooming.
- 7Physical capability to lift heavy items, including dogs and supplies.
- 8AKC training and Animal Handling Certification preferred.
