Dog Daycare Attendant in Dallas, Texas
Overview
You will run the daily playroom at Doggie's Wonderland, keeping 20+ dogs safe and socialized. You will join a team of 4 attendants and report to the Daycare Manager. You will own the play yard from 8am to 5pm, balancing active supervision with cleanup and owner communication. You will also become the go-to person for new puppy assessments after 90 days.
What You'll Do7
- 1Supervise free-play groups of up to 10 dogs, intervening before rough play escalates
- 2Read canine body language to spot stress or aggression, separating dogs as needed
- 3Lead outdoor exercise sessions in the fenced yard, rotating dogs every 30 minutes
- 4Sanitize kennels and play equipment between groups, using vet-grade disinfectants
- 5Assist with grooming tasks like nail trims and ear cleaning for boarding dogs
- 6Lift large dogs and 50-pound bags of food, following proper lifting form
- 7Greet pet owners at pickup, reporting on their dog's activity level and mood
Requirements7
- 11+ year of experience in pet sitting, kennel work, or animal handling
- 2Familiarity with basic dog training techniques like positive reinforcement
- 3Comfort with animal restraint during nail trims and vet visits
- 4Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts in an outdoor play area
- 5Strong customer service skills for daily owner updates
- 6Capability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly
- 7High school diploma or equivalent
