Forward Deployed Engineer
Overview
Post-sales engineer tasked with landing platform with customers through implementation and building on top of existing systems. Move between shadowing finance teams and wiring agents against real systems while demonstrating leadership.
What You'll Do5
- 1Embed with customer teams to learn operations through shadowing and mapping decision logic
- 2Build and deploy agents tailored to each customer's systems and edge cases
- 3Own the field-to-product feedback loop shaping platform development
- 4Present to customers and prospects with sharp narration and real design taste
- 5Deliver implementation across post-sales lifecycle including paid proofs of concept

- 1Outstanding commercial and customer-facing instincts as single most important trait
- 2Clear communication translating between technical and non-technical stakeholders
- 3Technical baseline understanding of how systems work under the hood
- 4Comfort with ambiguity and finding creative solutions
- 5Thinking in terms of business outcomes
- 60–4 years of experience
- 7Ability to work in person in San Francisco mostly five days a week
- 8Background in consulting solutions engineering growth engineering or technical founding
- 9Generalist engineering range across backend frontend and ML-adjacent work
- 10Client-facing technical operations experience
- 11Real design and presentation taste with demo pacing and narrative arc
- 12Experience at strong recognizable company in deployment or forward-deployed capacity

$180 - $250k per year
