Forklift Technician, Hi-Lo & Building Materials
Overview
You will own forklift operations at OEG Building Materials, loading flatbeds with steel and heavy products for a PM–AM shift. You will work with Forklifts, Overhead Cranes, Palletizers, and Conveyor Systems on a team that moves market-scale inventory. Your precision keeps the warehouse safe and schedules on track. What You'll Do8
- 1Operate Hi-Lo and Forklift equipment to load and unload flatbed trucks with steel and other building materials.
- 2Load and unload flatbed trucks with precision, balancing weight and securing cargo per OSHA guidelines.
- 3Replenish and stage inventory across the facility, ensuring organized storage for Overhead Crane and Palletizer workflows.
- 4Support shipping, receiving, and order picking to meet daily PM–AM schedules without delays.
- 5Champion OSHA and company safety protocols on every task, from pre-shift checks to load securement.
- 6Conduct routine forklift inspections and report mechanical issues promptly to maintenance.
- 7Coordinate with team members to stage materials for Conveyor Systems and ensure smooth flow.
- 8Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace to prevent accidents and comply with warehouse safety standards.
Requirements6
- 1Demonstrated forklift and loader experience, 1+ years preferred, with a valid operator certification.
- 2Background handling heavy or oversized materials, such as steel, lumber, or concrete, preferred.
- 3Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and work in a high-tempo warehouse environment.
- 4Solid understanding of OSHA warehouse safety practices and daily equipment inspection.
- 5Comfort with PM–AM shift work, including nights and rotating schedules.
- 6High attention to detail and reliability in a team-based warehouse setting.
