Foreperson, Tree Services & Vegetation Management
Overview
The Foreperson leads crew members, equipment, and supplies to complete vegetation management projects to contract specifications at scale. You will direct daily tasks, ensure safety, and liaise with property owners and customers to secure access and permissions. Work is onsite in Noblesville, IN with a focus on coordination, safety, and efficient execution of field tasks. This role stands out by combining hands-on field leadership with compliance and customer communication.
What You'll Do10
- 1Build crew plans and assign tasks to ensure daily targets are met and work is completed safely
- 2Direct equipment usage and inventory, ensuring all gear and PPE are maintained and readily available
- 3Lead on-site coordination with property owners, obtaining access and discussing work scope and timelines
- 4Supervise safe operation of trees trimming/removal using ladders, lifts, saws, and chippers and lower debris carefully
- 5Inspect completed work to ensure it meets contract specifications and notify customers of completion
- 6Organize break/lunch scheduling, daily truck inspections, and secure all equipment and materials
- 7Designate and document daily work schedules, and prepare for storm or emergency vegetation tasks
- 8Drive and coordinate cleanup of job site and restore equipment and supplies to trucks
- 9Record time, equipment, and materials used with accuracy for reporting and billing
- 10Drive compliance with federal, state, and company safety guidelines and perform job briefings
Requirements10
- 1High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- 2Prior experience in electric utility vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred
- 3Must meet qualifications to operate crew positions and follow verbal or written directives
- 4Ability to delegate work and hold crew accountable for performance
- 5Ability to read drawings and symbols representing lines and line equipment
- 6Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather and obtain first-aid certification and CPR
- 7Valid Driver's License and ability to safely drive a company vehicle
- 8Must be able to travel for storm restoration work when needed
- 9Pass a background check and drug screen; meet I-9 work authorization requirements
- 10Excellent communication and endurance for long shifts and physical work
