Arborist Foreman, Tree Care & Crew Leadership
Overview
You will own crew operations for a Tree Division in Orlando, FL, managing a team of climbers and ground workers. Oversee daily safety compliance, equipment readiness, and job-site execution on residential and commercial projects. The role sits under the operations manager and coordinates with project coordinators to meet tight schedules. You will drive a culture of safety-first fieldwork and mentor crew members toward promotion.
What You'll Do8
- 1Enforce all safety regulations on every job site, conducting daily briefings and spot checks.
- 2Train crew members on climbing techniques, rigging, and chainsaw operation using ANSI Z133 standards.
- 3Lead pre-job hazard assessments and adjust plans for weather, tree condition, or access constraints.
- 4Run daily equipment inspections, scheduling maintenance for chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts.
- 5Coordinate with management on crew performance, project status, and resource needs.
- 6Implement workflow improvements to cut cycle time on pruning and removals by 15%.
- 7Document completed work, hours, and incidents using TreeKit or similar field software.
- 8Resolve on-site conflicts with clients or property owners, balancing productivity and care.
Requirements8
- 13+ years as an arborist foreman or 5+ years in a lead climber role.
- 2ISA Certified Arborist credential or Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) certification preferred.
- 3Valid CDL Class B with air brakes endorsement for hauling equipment.
- 4Proven instruction methods for rope access and rigging techniques per ANSI Z133.
- 5Strong crisis management record with 0 lost-time incidents in the last 2 years.
- 6Working knowledge of TreePlotter or ArborSafe for hazard tracking.
- 7OSHA 30-hour construction safety training completed within the last 3 years.
- 8Physically fit to lift 80 lbs and work at heights up to 100 feet.
