You own the food delivery and dining area upkeep at Suffolk Punch South End, a high-volume brewpub in Charlotte's South End, ensuring every plate reaches the right guest within 90 seconds of leaving the pass. You execute the full suite of runner and busser duties, from order verification to table resets, while keeping the dining, patio, and service areas stocked and spotless. Working alongside servers, bartenders, and kitchen staff, you tighten the feedback loop between the line and the floor during peak service. What You'll Do10
- 1Run food from the expo line to the correct table within 90 seconds, confirming each plate matches the ticket before walking out.
- 2Check orders for completeness and presentation, flagging any missing or cold items to the chef or server immediately.
- 3Clear and reset tables within 2 minutes of guest departure, using three-plate carries and proper glass handling.
- 4Maintain the service station: fill water pitchers, sauce bottles, and napkin dispensers, and stock plasticware and to-go boxes before peak.
- 5Own dining-area cleanliness: wipe tables, benches, and floors between seatings, and empty trash bins at 70% capacity.
- 6Track the kitchen ticket board and communicate delays to servers so guests get real-time updates.
- 7Assist hosts and servers with guest requests, from refills to special accommodations, and escalate issues to the shift lead.
- 8Complete opening sidework (stock expediting station, set up buss tubs) and closing duties (break down stations, consolidate recyclables) each shift.
- 9Follow ServSafe sanitation and company uniform policies, including glove changes and proper handwashing.
- 10Adapt to seating rushes by supporting the expo line and dish pit when needed, holding a steady pace until close.

- 11+ year in a food runner, busser, or server assistant role in a full-service restaurant.
- 2Ability to lift, carry, push, or move 50 lbs repeatedly and stand or walk for 8-hour shifts.
- 3Must bend, reach, and move quickly in a high-volume environment with 70+ covers per hour.
- 4Reading KDS tickets and matching table numbers with food orders under time pressure.
- 5Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices, including TCS temperature checks.
- 6Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.
- 7Comfort learning brewpub menu items and allergen protocols to answer guest questions.
