Overview
This role owns floor care for office buildings and labs in San Diego, operating high-performance machinery to strip, wax, and buff surfaces. You follow OSHA safety protocols and use chemicals properly to maintain clean facilities. Work Wednesday to Sunday, 5:00 pm to 1:30 am, with potential overtime. This position stands out for its hands-on training and stable schedule.
What You'll Do9
- 1Strip, wax, and buff floors in office buildings and labs using buffing machines
- 2Auto scrub floors with floor scrubbers to maintain surface quality
- 3Extract carpets with carpet extractors to remove dirt and stains
- 4Spot carpets using dry cleaning chemicals and appropriate supplies
- 5Operate and maintain all equipment correctly, reporting any issues to supervisors
- 6Recheck all areas before end of shift to ensure cleanliness and waste disposal
- 7Label, dilute, and use chemicals according to safety procedures
- 8Wear Personal Protective Equipment and place wet floor signs as needed
- 9Perform end of shift inspections following company guidelines
Requirements10
- 11-2 years experience cleaning, maintaining, and restoring floor surfaces
- 22-3 years experience cleaning carpets with methods like shampooing or bonneting
- 31-2 years experience applying gloss, polish, or sealant with buffing tools
- 4Ability to be on feet all shift, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 70 lb floor machine
- 5Ability to carry 12 lb backpack vacuum as needed
- 6Must be 18 years of age
- 7Must provide proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residency
- 8Must complete I-9 and E-Verify process
- 9Must complete pre-employment background check and drug screen if applicable
- 10Must provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination
