The Floating Early Childhood Director leads early childhood programs across Washington DC ensuring high quality Reggio-inspired education. This role requires a director with proven leadership experience and operational expertise. You will collaborate with all departments to implement consistent standards and drive program success.
What You'll Do11
- 1Oversee daily center operations including scheduling and staff assignments
- 2Ensure compliance with state and local childcare licensing regulations
- 3Develop and maintain Reggio-inspired learning environments
- 4Manage preschool staff through hiring training and performance evaluations
- 5Coordinate curriculum development aligned with child development principles
- 6Supervise facility maintenance and grounds upkeep
- 7Promote school brand at community events and preschool fairs
- 8Guide staff in lesson planning and project evaluation
- 9Maintain strong relationships with families parents and community partners
- 10Assist in interim leadership when school director is unavailable
- 11Drive continuous improvement initiatives across all program areas
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education Administration or related field with master's preferred
- 2Minimum 3 years director-level experience in early childhood education
- 3Demonstrated leadership developing curriculum and managing staff
- 4Expertise in Reggio-inspired educational approaches
- 5Strong knowledge of child development principles and developmentally appropriate practices
- 6Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments
- 7Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse populations

Salary Insight
