What You'll Do8

  • 1Perform comprehensive assessments and emergency treatments for critically ill or injured patients across all ages during rotor-wing, fixed-wing, and ground transports.
  • 2Document accurate patient assessment, treatment, and billing information during stabilization and transport to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
  • 3Maintain timely communication with management and internal/external customers to coordinate effective transport logistics and patient handoffs.
  • 4Support public relations and marketing activities to promote PHI Health's services and community outreach.
  • 5Complete mandatory meetings, chart reviews, equipment reviews, skill labs, and clinical rotations to stay current with flight paramedic protocols.
  • 6Finish all annual recurrent competency requirements and maintain active paramedic certification plus all required certifications (BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, PHTLS/ITLS).
  • 7Adhere to licensure and scope of practice under the Medical Director and local Department of Health Services regulations.
  • 8Participate in the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program and achieve FP-C certification within 24 months.

  • 1Active paramedic certification in the state of Texas.
  • 23+ years (5+ preferred) of current paramedic field experience in a busy 911 service.
  • 3Current BLS, ACLS, PALS/PEPP, and PHTLS/ITLS certifications.
  • 4NRP and instructor certifications preferred.
  • 5FP-C certification within 24 months of hire.
  • 6Flight or transport experience preferred.
  • 7Successful completion of the PHI Air Medical Group education/orientation program.
  • 8Basic computer skills for email and electronic charting.
  • 9Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related field preferred.
  • 10Pass pre-placement physical exam including functional capacity exam (lift up to 100 pounds), drug screening, and background screen; maintain body weight below 235 lbs.
