Flavor Manufacturing Technician, Food Production
Overview
As a Flavor Manufacturing Technician, you will operate filling packaging equipment, manage the Spray Dryer, and perform hand-filling tasks in a high-volume flavor production environment at our Hunt Valley facility. You'll join a team of 14,000 global employees, reporting to a Team Manager. You'll ensure product integrity through accurate production records, sanitation, and safety adherence. This role offers a pathway to become fork truck certified and grow within a Fortune 500 company.
What You'll Do10
- 1Set up and operate all filling packaging equipment, including hand-filling tasks, to meet daily production schedules.
- 2Operate the Spray Dryer and monitor its performance to maintain product quality.
- 3Follow packaging instructions on production cards and daily schedules, checking weights, labels, formula integrity, and machine numbers.
- 4Maintain accurate production records and report information daily.
- 5Inspect in-process goods for proper weights, labeling, packaging, and pallet configuration; correct or report defects.
- 6Perform sanitation duties, housekeeping, and adhere to safety and GMP procedures.
- 7Assist in equipment maintenance, report machinery breakdowns, and resolve basic mechanical issues.
- 8Perform retain procedures and sampling per specifications.
- 9Assist in making basic small blends and emulsions.
- 10Operate a forklift safely and perform changeovers and washdowns, including chemical, allergen, and kosher cleaning.
Requirements10
- 1High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 21+ years of production experience in mixing, blending, or processing.
- 3Ability to read and interpret formula sheets, printed materials, and computer screens.
- 4Ability to distinguish colors and perform basic math functions.
- 5Ability to lift and carry pails of liquids (50 lbs), move containers over 50 lbs, and hand roll 600 lb drums.
- 6Ability to climb ladders, bend, and stoop to work around equipment.
- 7Ability to operate hand tools, high-pressure water hoses, and enter data via touchscreen or keyboard.
- 8Willingness to work full shifts plus daily overtime and weekends, with flexibility for 10-12 hour shifts.
- 9Fork truck license or ability to become certified through McCormick.
- 10Ability to wear a PAPR/positive pressure respirator and pass annual pulmonary function tests.
