Overview
NASA Federal Credit Union seeks a detail-oriented analytical Financial Crimes Investigator to lead timely risk-based investigations of suspected fraud. This role supports internal teams and external partners while documenting findings and preparing reports for management law enforcement and regulators. The ideal candidate identifies fraud trends interprets transactions and recommends process improvements to protect members.
What You'll Do11
- 1Owns assignment and resolution of fraud cases across Branch Operations Consumer and Mortgage Lending and Fraud Prevention
- 2Monitors fraud detection systems reviews documents and takes action to prevent or recover losses
- 3Conducts investigative fact-finding through structured non-coercive interviews with perpetrators and victims
- 4Performs root cause analysis to close gaps and suggest preventive measures
- 5Documents case actions and provides narrative summaries in the case management system
- 6Communicates effectively with business units and collaborates with law enforcement agencies
- 7Investigates loan credit card wire and check fraud ID theft and other unauthorized activities
- 8Responds to member inquiries and contacts law enforcement regarding suspicious activity
- 9Prepares suspicious activity reports and status reports for management
- 10Establishes relationships with regulatory bodies and participates in continuing education
- 11Represents the Credit Union in court and processes insurance notices of loss
Requirements8
- 1Minimum four years of fraud financial crimes AML or banking operations experience
- 2Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice finance accounting business or related field preferred
- 3Active certification as CFE CAMS or ACAMS or CIA
- 4Excellent oral and written communication skills
- 5Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet research tools
- 6Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- 7Strong organizational abilities and experience with compliance regulations
- 8Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across functional teams
Salary Insight
$60 - $110k per year
