Financial Analyst, Employee Benefits & Underwriting

Own the underwriting and RFP process end-to-end at Wilshire Benefits Group, managing employee benefits analytics for thousands of clients. You'll lead market analyses, negotiate with carriers, and advise producers while driving data-driven decisions. What You'll Do6
- 1Lead the full underwriting and RFP cycle: gather data, run competitive market analyses, and negotiate with insurance carriers.
- 2Execute market and financial analysis: track and interpret client claim data, calculate employer and employee contributions, and deliver accurate insights.
- 3Present renewal options in client meetings, both in-person and virtually, and strategize optimal solutions.
- 4Stay current on healthcare reform updates, trend data, and carrier promotions to advise on regulatory impacts.
- 5Track and document all processes in the agency management system, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
- 6Support the sales cycle, including prospecting, service, and retention, plus special projects and colleague assistance.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field, or 2+ years in the industry.
- 2Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
- 3Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
- 4Experience with CRM systems or agency databases, demonstrating diligent documentation.
- 5Familiarity with insurance carriers, employee benefits, and underwriting procedures.
- 6Group, Health and Life license preferred, but not required.
- 7Experience with Rate Ease or other carrier quoting systems preferred.
