Field Technician/Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Repair
Overview
Own the repair and maintenance of heavy construction machines across our 27 branch locations in the Southeast. With a $5,000 sign-on bonus, you'll diagnose, repair, and test Komatsu, BOMAG, and other major equipment in the shop and field. What You'll Do8
- 1Diagnose and repair construction machinery and components, including developing a repair plan and sequence for each job
- 2Order parts through our parts system and retrieve specialized tools from the Tool Room to complete repairs efficiently
- 3Perform quality assurance testing on repaired systems to ensure proper function and safety
- 4Write detailed daily service reports and work order closures, documenting all repairs and parts used
- 5Communicate repair progress with your supervisor, flagging any delays or additional findings
- 6Operate a company service truck and fuel cards, maintaining a clean and safe work environment
- 7Use major shop equipment like air compressors, cleaning tanks, and overhead cranes with proper care
- 8Keep your tools and tool carrier organized and updated, following all safety guidelines
Requirements9
- 1High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 2Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology, or 4 years of apprenticeship experience
- 3Hands-on experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in heavy equipment
- 4Ability to read and interpret schematics and service manuals
- 5Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software for Komatsu and other major brands
- 6Physical stamina to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, and lift in varied weather conditions
- 7Valid driver's license with a clean record for operating company vehicles
- 8Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekend rotations as needed
- 9Strong communication skills for reporting and team coordination
