Field Service Technician - Solar & Battery Systems
Overview
You will own the diagnosis, repair, and recommissioning of solar PV and battery storage systems across Concord, CA. As a Field Technician at GT Power Construction Inc., you will handle SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase, and LG equipment, ensuring systems run at peak performance. Working with a tight-knit team, you will travel to job sites and independently resolve hardware and communication issues. This role offers direct experience with advanced storage technologies and the autonomy to manage your own service calls.
What You'll Do6
- 1Diagnose and troubleshoot faults on solar PV and battery storage systems using Megger testing and electrical diagnostics.
- 2Identify and rectify system performance, communication, and hardware issues across SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase, and LG equipment.
- 3Replace and recommission faulty equipment, including SolarEdge optimizers, inverters, battery storage systems, and solar modules.
- 4Manage manufacturer warranty replacements through the RMA process, from documentation to shipping.
- 5Commission and recommission systems after repairs, ensuring proper operation and compliance with safety standards.
- 6Complete detailed service reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
Requirements7
- 11+ year of solar installation experience (required).
- 2Hands-on experience with SolarEdge, Tesla, Enphase, and LG Battery systems.
- 3Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills, including Megger testing and electrical testing procedures.
- 4Proven ability to replace inverters, optimizers, batteries, and solar modules.
- 5Ability to read electrical schematics and commissioning documentation.
- 6Current driver's license and willingness to travel 100% of the time (required).
- 7English proficiency (required).
Salary Insight
