Field Service Technician, IT Hardware & POS Repair
Overview
Own on-site IT break/fix support for retail locations across Columbus, maintaining, analyzing, and repairing OEM laptops, desktops, POS systems, and printers. You drive 100% of the time, with mileage, parking, and tolls reimbursed. What You'll Do7
- 1Troubleshoot and repair laptops, desktops, POS terminals, and printers at component level during the first 90 days
- 2Perform on-site servicing of Windows-based registers and retail POS systems, ensuring minimal downtime
- 3Image and recover hard drives on OEM equipment, restoring systems to factory standards
- 4Install and update software packages and drivers, following documented procedures
- 5Document all service activities, including problem identification, resolution, and follow-up steps
- 6Prioritize and resolve reported issues in the field, coordinating with dispatch and customers
- 7Drive to multiple client sites daily, maintaining a clean driving record and professional demeanor
Requirements7
- 12+ years field service experience repairing desktops, laptops, and printers
- 2Hands-on familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems for retail, including Windows-based registers
- 3Ability to perform component-level break/fix on hardware and peripherals
- 4Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with no major violations or open warrants
- 5Own reliable vehicle; mileage, parking, and tolls reimbursed
- 6Strong problem-solving skills to identify, research, and resolve technical issues
- 7Willingness to travel 100% onsite within the Columbus area
