What You'll Do8
- 1Travel to customer sites to install, calibrate, and repair Opentrons robotic platforms, ensuring optimal performance.
- 2Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and software issues on Python-based liquid handlers, resolving within first visit when possible.
- 3Document all service activities in Salesforce, maintaining accurate records for repeatable resolution.
- 4Perform remote troubleshooting using version control tools like GitHub to identify code-level faults.
- 5Schedule and manage preventive maintenance visits independently, balancing urgent field requests.
- 6Communicate technical findings clearly to customers, reinforcing our customer-obsessed service approach.
- 7Partner with field applications scientists to escalate complex issues, driving product improvements based on field insights.
- 8Maintain high service quality and professionalism while representing Opentrons in diverse lab environments.
Requirements10
- 1Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
- 22-4 years of customer-facing technical support in life sciences or laboratory automation.
- 3Proven ability to calibrate and repair liquid-handling automation, with Opentrons robots a strong plus.
- 4Solid understanding of debugging Python code for Automated Liquid Handling systems.
- 5Strong mechanical and hardware troubleshooting skills for precision robotics.
- 6Experience documenting service activities in Salesforce or similar CRM tools.
- 7Proficiency with GitHub or other version control systems for code review and logging.
- 8Excellent verbal and written communication, translating technical issues for non-technical audiences.
- 9Ability to lift 50+ pounds and stand for extended periods during installations.
- 10Live within 1 hour of an international airport and willing to travel 60-75% overnight.
