Field Layout Technician at Prism Electric
Overview
Join Prism Electric as a Field Layout Technician in Dallas Texas. You will own layout tasks supporting project accuracy and client satisfaction. This role drives progress within our open-shop electrical contracting team.
What You'll Do11
- 1Perform and aid in construction layout using Trimble/Leica robotic total stations to support field validation and QA/QC
- 2Verify field measurements benchmarks and calculations against drawings and project requirements
- 3Plan execute and document field survey activities in line with project team standards
- 4Conduct as-built surveys and update documentation accordingly
- 5Coordinate control points schedules and layout tasks with project teams general contractors and subcontractors
- 6Work closely with the BIM and operations team
- 7Ensure equipment is organized calibrated and up to date with proper firmware
- 8Promote quality and customer satisfaction by serving as liaison between field teams and clients
- 9Provide clear communication and support to project superintendents managers and field personnel
- 10Support existing conditions of surveys and pre-construction field validations
- 11Other duties assigned by Sr. Site Field Technicians
Requirements9
- 1High school diploma or equivalent with technical training or associate degree preferred
- 210+ years of hands-on experience in construction or the AEC industry
- 3Strong knowledge of robotic total stations with 10+ years of Trimble RTS usage required
- 4Strong knowledge of electrical installation and procedures
- 5Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel to job sites
- 6Ability to read and interpret construction documents shop drawings and plans
- 7Excellent problem solving and time management skills
- 8Effective communication and teamwork skills
- 9Familiarity with hand tools testing equipment and safety procedures
