Responsible for overseeing sidewalk reconstruction and street tree planting across New York City's parks and neighborhoods. What You'll Do8

  • 1Conduct daily site visits across city parks and sidewalks typically within one borough and be on site by 7:00 a.m.
  • 2Monitor and coordinate contractor activities including excavation saw cutting planting and concrete restoration.
  • 3Ensure all work meets project specifications safety standards and contract requirements.
  • 4Work closely with project managers and NYC Parks representatives to keep projects on track.
  • 5Track and verify quantities for pay items such as trees planted and excavation volumes.
  • 6Complete daily field reports measurements and documentation.
  • 7Enforce safety compliance including proper PPE and safe work practices.
  • 8Make independent field decisions and escalate issues as needed.

  • 1Associate degree plus 2 years of relevant field experience
  • 2Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of related experience
  • 3Master’s degree plus 6 months of related experience
  • 43+ years of relevant hands-on field experience
  • 5Experience in construction oversight parks projects sidewalks landscaping forestry or civil works
  • 6Ability to read and apply project specifications and contract documents
  • 7Strong organizational communication and documentation skills
  • 8Comfortable working independently in the field and managing multiple sites
  • 9Willingness to work outdoors year-round in varying weather
  • 10Access to a vehicle for travel between job sites
  • 11Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
