Overview
You will own primary care for a behavioral health patient panel at a well-respected clinic in Central Phoenix, AZ. Your work includes routine checkups, chronic disease management, and preventive care. You join a collaborative team of psychiatrists, therapists, and nursing staff. This role stands out because it focuses on integrated care, combining physical and mental health services. You will perform GYN screenings such as breast exams, cervical cancer checks, and Paps. You hold a clean Arizona NP license and bring prior FNP experience.
What You'll Do8
- 1Conduct comprehensive physical exams for behavioral health patients, including GYN screenings for breast and cervical cancer.
- 2Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as labs and imaging, then adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- 3Prescribe medications and manage ongoing prescriptions, monitoring for side effects and interactions.
- 4Document patient visits in the EHR system, ensuring accurate and timely records.
- 5Collaborate with psychiatrists and therapists to coordinate care for patients with co-occurring conditions.
- 6Educate patients on preventive health measures, including self-exams and vaccination schedules.
- 7Respond to patient messages and phone calls, addressing urgent concerns within 24 hours.
- 8Participate in weekly team meetings to review high-risk cases and improve care protocols.
Requirements8
- 11+ years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with a focus on adult primary care.
- 2Active and clean Arizona NP license in good standing.
- 3History of performing GYN screenings including Pap smears and clinical breast exams.
- 4Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program, with FNP certification.
- 5DEA registration and ability to prescribe controlled substances.
- 6Experience in behavioral health settings or with psychiatric patients is preferred.
- 7Proficiency with EHR systems and digital documentation.
- 8Strong clinical judgment and ability to work autonomously.
