Overview

You will own the kitchen's daily food prep and quality control at a Vail Resorts mountain location, serving thousands of guests each season. You will work alongside the Chef and a team of cooks to maintain ServSafe standards and keep par levels accurate for peak demand. This summer seasonal role offers full-time hours, housing, and free lift passes, plus a starting wage of $21.00/hr - $24.19/hr. You will train staff on kitchen equipment and contribute to a top-tier dining experience in a resort environment. The role builds on your 1-2 years of culinary experience and sets you up for growth within Vail's Epic Service training.

What You'll Do7

  • 1Train kitchen staff on kitchen equipment, tools, and accessories to ensure safe and efficient use.
  • 2Enforce food safety and sanitation standards for the facility and prep areas to keep guest experience high.
  • 3Maintain current knowledge of menu items and their ingredients for accurate prep.
  • 4Prep ingredients and manage par levels to meet demand and minimize waste.
  • 5Track inventory using a first-in-first-out method and report food waste to the Chef.
  • 6Assist the Chef with daily kitchen operations, including opening and closing duties.
  • 7Collaborate with the culinary team to keep service running smoothly during peak hours.

Requirements8

  • 11-2 years of relevant kitchen experience, with supervisory experience preferred.
  • 2Strong knowledge of cooking techniques and food safety, with ServSafe certification a plus.
  • 3Culinary degree or certification preferred.
  • 4Ability to stand and walk continuously for extended periods.
  • 5Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • 6Fluent in English for clear communication with team and guests.
  • 7At least 18 years of age for this role.
  • 8Ability to work well under pressure in a high-volume kitchen.
