Overview
You will run evening shifts and close the store at Once Upon a Child, a busy resale shop in Houston. This floor-facing role puts you with customers most of the night, not in a back office. You, as the on-shift leader, handle cash, open and close, and support the team when the manager is away. You will drive sales by greeting families, answering questions, and processing merchandise. This part-time position offers a consistent schedule, employee discount, and paid time off.
What You'll Do5
- 1Open and close the store, including cash handling, register reconciliation, and securing the building
- 2Greet and assist customers on the sales floor, answering questions and helping families find what they need
- 3Assist with buys: sort, price, and evaluate incoming merchandise
- 4Keep the sales floor stocked, organized, and clean
- 5Act as the go-to person on shift when a manager isn't on site
Requirements6
- 11+ years retail experience; keyholder, shift lead, or closing experience strongly preferred
- 2Positive, outgoing personality; you genuinely enjoy talking to customers
- 3Dependable and trustworthy with keys, cash, and opening/closing procedures
- 4Able to stand for the length of a shift and lift/move merchandise
- 5Available for evening shifts, including some weekends
- 618+ years old
