What You'll Do6
- 1Respond to guests in a timely and professional manner based on prioritization of needs
- 2Develop and implement housing pathways by motivating guests to rapidly work on housing and connecting them to appropriate resources
- 3Assist guests in connecting with substance abuse mental health and medical resources when shelter cannot safely accommodate needs
- 4Stay energized and focused even when demands are ambiguous and strenuous
- 5Enter data into the Homeless Management Information HMIS system and document reports according to agency policy
- 6Make sound decisions and seek guidance from a supervisor
Requirements12
- 1High School diploma or GED
- 2Minimum one year experience in Human Services field
- 3Ability to stand for long periods of time
- 4Ability to lift up to twentyfive 25 lbs
- 5Ability to assist guests up and down stairs and in-and-out of wheelchairs
- 6Ability to respond quickly to emergencies
- 7Ability to use good judgment in stressful situations
- 8Sensitivity and patience working with guests suffering from mental illness alcohol and drug addiction
- 9Resilience in difficult ambiguous situations
- 10Ability to handle multiple assignments
- 11Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- 12Valid MA driver’s license in good standing
