What You'll Do10
- 1Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for civil construction projects including water sewer utilities grading and earthwork.
- 2Use B2W estimating software to develop and manage estimates assemblies and unit rates.
- 3Analyze project plans specifications and site conditions to identify risks phasing and constructability issues.
- 4Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes develop bid packages and scopes of work.
- 5Collaborate with project managers engineers and field staff to validate assumptions refine schedules and optimize costs.
- 6Maintain and update historical unit cost databases production rates and material pricing.
- 7Prepare bid summaries estimate documentation and margin recommendations for management review.
- 8Participate in pre-bid meetings site visits and client discussions as required.
- 9Support post-bid activities including scope clarifications value engineering and estimating revisions.
- 10Ensure estimates comply with contract requirements bonding limits and company policies.
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor's degree in Construction Management Civil Engineering or related field preferred or equivalent work experience.
- 23+ years of estimating experience in civil construction with emphasis on water sewer utilities grading and earthwork.
- 3Proficiency with B2W estimating software and digital takeoff tools familiarity with Microsoft Excel and project management software.
- 4Strong knowledge of construction methods sequencing productivity rates and unit costing.
- 5Excellent analytical organizational and written verbal communication skills.
- 6Ability to read and interpret civil plans specifications and geotechnical reports.
- 7Proven ability to manage multiple bids and meet tight deadlines.
- 8Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on accuracy.
- 9Valid drivers license and willingness to attend site visits and meetings as required.
