You will own the cleanliness and infection control for a Tribal healthcare facility serving the Indigenous community in Tacoma, WA. This evening shift role covers patient care areas, offices, and common spaces, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for healing. What You'll Do8
- 1Clean and sanitize patient care areas, offices, common spaces, and restrooms using hospital-grade disinfectants and PPE.
- 2Vacuum, dust, mop, and maintain floors, carpets, and furniture to OSHA and Joint Commission standards.
- 3Support infection prevention efforts by following bloodborne pathogen protocols and handling biohazard waste properly.
- 4Collect and dispose of medical waste and transport linens and supplies throughout the facility.
- 5Stock restrooms, hand sanitizer stations, and supply closets to ensure readiness for staff and patients.
- 6Respond to urgent cleaning requests within 15 minutes to maintain a professional environment.
- 7Operate floor buffers, carpet extractors, and autoscrubbers for deep cleaning tasks.
- 8Document cleaning activities in daily logs and report maintenance issues to the supervisor.
Requirements7
- 1High School Diploma or GED required.
- 26+ months of janitorial or housekeeping experience in a healthcare or similar setting.
- 3Valid Washington State Driver License and current vehicle insurance with satisfactory driving record.
- 4Ability to work around contagious illnesses, biohazards, and cleaning chemicals.
- 5Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screening.
- 6Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks for the full shift.
- 7Flexibility to work evening hours (4:45PM - 1:15AM) Monday through Friday.
