Overview

As an Environmental Scientist on our Compliance Team, you will lead and support environmental compliance projects for federal and state clients. You will conduct regulatory research, write permits and reports, and perform on-site audits and surveys, with travel about one week per month. Working with Environmental Research Group (ERG), you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, applying your expertise in environmental compliance to diverse projects. What You'll Do7

  • 1Plan and execute environmental compliance projects, from initial research to final deliverables, owning the full lifecycle.
  • 2Conduct regulatory research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal and state environmental laws, including DoW policy.
  • 3Write and prepare environmental plans, permits, and reports that meet client and regulatory standards.
  • 4Perform on-site compliance audits and inspections at industrial and outdoor locations, wearing Level D PPE as needed.
  • 5Support permitting processes by gathering data, coordinating with agencies, and documenting compliance status.
  • 6Collaborate with team members across disciplines to deliver integrated solutions for complex environmental challenges.
  • 7Prioritize client needs and deadlines, adapting to shifting project requirements and multiple roles.

Requirements8

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or closely related field.
  • 2Working knowledge of federal environmental programs, including Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and CERCLA.
  • 3Experience with environmental compliance auditing, inspections, and Environmental Management Systems.
  • 4Proven ability to prepare and write environmental plans, permits, and reports.
  • 5Experience conducting environmental audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • 6Knowledge of DoW environmental policy and experience with federal agencies (preferred).
  • 7US citizenship and ability to pass DoW security clearances and background checks, plus obtain a passport.
  • 8Willingness to travel up to one week per month, with field assignments lasting 3-14 days.
