Overview

The ideal Environmental Scientist leads Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments in a balanced field office setting. This role offers a 50/50 split between fieldwork and analytical tasks. You will produce technical reports and collaborate with clients and regulators.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Conduct Phase I ESAs per ASTM standards including site inspections and historical research
  • 2Plan and execute Phase II ESAs covering soil groundwater and vapor sampling
  • 3Analyze environmental data and translate findings into clear technical reports
  • 4Identify Recognized Environmental Conditions and recommend remediation strategies
  • 5Prepare accurate Phase I and Phase II ESA reports adhering to regulatory requirements
  • 6Coordinate field investigations and manage project scheduling budgeting and resources
  • 7Apply GIS and Microsoft Office tools for mapping data analysis and documentation
  • 8Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide environmental expertise
  • 9Participate in field activities such as soil sampling and documentation
  • 10Communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • 11Contribute to a learning culture through mentorship and knowledge sharing

Requirements12

  • 1Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science Geology or related field
  • 24+ years of environmental consulting or site assessment experience
  • 3Hands-on experience with Phase I and Phase II ESAs including field sampling and report writing
  • 4Familiarity with ASTM E1527-21 standards and regulations like CERCLA and RCRA
  • 5Strong technical writing skills for comprehensive ESA documentation
  • 6Ability to interpret laboratory data for soil groundwater and vapor samples
  • 7Proficiency with GIS software for mapping and spatial analysis
  • 8Expertise with Microsoft Office tools for documentation data analysis and presentations
  • 9Demonstrated project management abilities handling multiple concurrent projects
  • 10Experience in environmental science remediation and monitoring activities
  • 11Previous experience drafting Phase I and Phase II ESA reports
  • 12OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification or willingness to obtain it
