What You'll Do8

  • 1Plan and execute project activities for regulatory compliance, covering hazardous materials, waste management, petroleum storage tanks, stormwater, and wastewater programs.
  • 2Conduct compliance assessments at commercial and industrial facilities, implement corrective actions, and ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • 3Perform environmental compliance audits focusing on hazardous waste storage, transportation, disposal, and recordkeeping practices, then prepare audit reports with findings and recommendations.
  • 4Provide training to clients on hazardous materials handling, waste classification, and disposal requirements, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) and program manuals.
  • 5Prepare and develop contingency and emergency response plans, and evaluate regulatory applicability, conducting rule research and interpreting requirements for clients.
  • 6Conduct inventories of hazardous waste and materials, prepare annual reports, and submit them to the California Environmental Reporting System (CERS).
  • 7Support business development by identifying new clients and opportunities within existing projects, leveraging technical expertise.
  • 8Deliver regulatory guidance and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Requirements7

  • 14-7 years of environmental consulting experience with a focus on hazardous waste and hazardous materials compliance.
  • 2Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3Strong technical writing and client communication skills, with the ability to independently execute compliance projects with minimal training.
  • 4Proficiency in regulatory compliance and environmental compliance audits, including experience with field inspections and SOP development.
  • 5Ability to travel up to 25%, work independently, and maintain flexibility in a dynamic environment.
  • 6Direct California experience is highly preferred, and hands-on California Industrial General Permit experience is highly desirable.
  • 7QISP certification is preferred.
