Enterprise Data Architect, Snowflake & Data Governance
Overview
You will lead the enterprise data architecture function for Data Management, enabling Arch's vision of becoming a data-driven and AI-enabled organization. You'll own the target state data platforms, manage the Data Management Centre of Excellence, and drive the roadmap from current to transition states. Collaborate with the Chief Data Architect and domain SMEs across the Group to shape a coherent data strategy. This hybrid role offers flexibility for remote work near Raleigh, Jersey City, or Hartford, and positions you at the core of transformative data initiatives.
What You'll Do6
- 1Drive the enterprise data management roadmap with the Chief Data Architect, defining current, target, and transition states aligned to the Arch Data & AI strategy.
- 2Maintain solution architecture designs and playbooks for adopting modern data warehousing tech like Snowflake and strategic data platform analytics capabilities.
- 3Ensure successful delivery of data management initiatives by collaborating with solution architects and data architects from programs.
- 4Own the target state enterprise data platforms and architecture, mapping transition states per segment and introducing new data management capabilities from inception to adoption.
- 5Lead the Data Management Centre of Excellence, covering all aspects of data management and tooling, and manage vendor relationships across all tooling.
- 6Steer and quantify the value of data platform transformations, shaping coherent data management roadmaps co-created with domain SMEs from the business.
Requirements8
- 13+ years of enterprise architecture experience within an organization of similar size and complexity to Arch.
- 2Data architecture expertise with a proven track record in delivering transformative programs with a large data management footprint.
- 3Experience in architecting and driving Data Governance, Master Data Management, Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Access Management, and Data Privacy across a global enterprise.
- 4Experience in modern data warehousing with a solid technical understanding of modern cloud systems, including Snowflake and Databricks as enterprise capabilities.
- 5Deep knowledge of key data architecture functions across ingestion, transformation, visualization, and metadata management using tools like Snowflake, Azure, dbtCloud, and Collibra.
- 6Experience delivering data products aligned to business requirements and data mesh principles in the modern data warehousing paradigm.
- 7Practical experience leading successful technical adoption of modern data management capabilities into an enterprise organization.
- 8Strong senior stakeholder communication skills, with experience in executive communication.
