What You'll Do9
- 1Welcome patients and triage incoming cases
- 2Assist with treatments nursing diagnostics bloodwork imaging catheter placement oxygen support
- 3Collaborate with credentialed techs and vets to set up and monitor anesthesia
- 4Manage IV fluids blood transfusions and medication administration
- 5Participate in outpatient and inpatient care from exam rooms to treatment areas
- 6Join patient rounds to maintain continuity of care
- 7Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer
- 8Advance into anesthesia support ultrasound and catheterization
- 9Maintain clean and organized treatment areas
Requirements11
- 1High school diploma or equivalent
- 2Enrolled in an AVMA‑accredited veterinary technology program
- 31+ years veterinary assistant experience emergency or specialty preferred
- 4Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software
- 5Strong verbal communication with pet owners and staff
- 6Fine motor skills for handling patients and medical equipment
- 7Ability to stand for long periods kneel and lift up to 25 kg independently
- 8Willingness to work nights weekends and holidays as needed
