Embroidery Specialist (AM Shift) - Phoenix, AZ
Overview
You will own the embroidery production line, running Barudan and Tajima machines to deliver custom branded apparel at a scale of 500+ pieces per week. Your day starts at 6am, where you will set up, digitize, and operate embroidery machines with precision. You will collaborate with the design team to ensure every stitch meets spec. The role demands a keen eye for color and detail, and you will be the go-to person for troubleshooting machine hiccups. What You'll Do8
- 1Set up embroidery machines (threads, needles, hoops) for each production run, selecting the right colors and digitized designs.
- 2Load and align fabric or garments on frames to ensure accurate stitching and zero defects.
- 3Operate Barudan and Tajima machines, monitoring output and adjusting tension, speed, and stitch density as needed.
- 4Inspect finished products for thread breaks, puckering, or misalignment, catching issues before they reach the customer.
- 5Troubleshoot machine errors, from broken needles to thread jams, and resolve them within minutes to keep production flowing.
- 6Prioritize orders to meet daily production targets, balancing speed with quality on every piece.
- 7Maintain accurate records of completed orders and thread inventory, flagging reorders before you run out of a color.
- 8Communicate design or production challenges to the team lead in real time, suggesting fixes that prevent repeat issues.
Requirements6
- 11+ year of hands-on experience running embroidery machines in a production setting (preferred but not required).
- 2Strong eye for color, pattern, and design accuracy, with the ability to spot a 1mm misalignment on a moving hoop.
- 3Physical stamina to stand for 8-hour shifts and handle repetitive tasks without losing focus.
- 4Quick troubleshooting skills to diagnose and fix thread breaks, needle issues, or design file errors on the fly.
- 5Ability to manage multiple orders at once, switching between jobs without dropping quality.
- 6Comfort with digitized design files and machine software, including importing, scaling, and adjusting stitch density.
