Electrical CAD Designer Advanced Light Source Upgrade

Lead electrical CAD designer for Advanced Light Source Upgrade project at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Transform engineering concepts into manufacturable designs and documentation. Support fabrication assembly installation testing and integration of complex systems.
What You'll Do15
- 1Create and maintain detailed electrical CAD models schematics wiring diagrams and panel layouts using project-approved CAD software
- 2Develop electrical designs that translate engineering concepts into manufacturable products
- 3Utilize AutoCAD Electrical Autodesk Inventor KiCad or other LBNL-approved CAD platforms
- 4Review update and revise designs based on engineering feedback design reviews and approved changes
- 5Ensure designs accurately reflect engineering requirements and integrate with associated assemblies
- 6Prepare manufacturing-ready electrical documentation including Bills of Materials wire and cable lists/schedules wiring diagrams electrical schematics panel layouts
- 7Collaborate with electrical mechanical engineers project managers and manufacturing personnel
- 8Participate in design coordination meetings and design reviews
- 9Incorporate approved engineering changes and design-review feedback into CAD models and documentation
- 10Support integration of electrical and mechanical designs within larger product assemblies
- 11Perform work in accordance with industry standards codes engineering practices and LBNL quality requirements
- 12Maintain revision-controlled documentation within Windchill PLM/PDM systems or other LBNL-designated engineering systems
- 13Ensure design documentation is accurate traceable and properly controlled
- 14Deliver electrical CAD models electrical schematics wiring diagrams panel layouts Bills of Materials wire and cable schedules manufacturing and assembly documentation engineering drawing revisions revision-controlled design documentation design packages supporting fabrication assembly testing and installation
- 15Provide manufacturing-ready electrical documentation to support fabrication assembly installation testing and integration
Requirements12
- 1Associations or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology Drafting Design or related field with 5+ years professional experience
- 2Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor AutoCAD Electrical KiCad or equivalent electrical CAD design software
- 3Demonstrated experience producing manufacturing-ready electrical documentation
- 4Working knowledge of electrical engineering principles components schematic development and wiring practices
- 5Familiarity with applicable electrical design standards codes and industry practices
- 6Strong attention to detail ability to produce accurate well-organized engineering documentation
- 7Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and project teams
- 8Experience supporting DOE national laboratories research facilities particle accelerators or complex scientific industrial engineering projects
- 9Experience using Autodesk Inventor for 3D electrical or electromechanical design
- 10Experience integrating electrical and mechanical CAD models
- 11Experience using Windchill for engineering document and configuration management
- 12Ability to work in a highly controlled engineering manufacturing or scientific environment
