Overview

The EHS Manager owns the site Environmental, Health, and Safety programs at scale in Torrance, CA. Serve as the subject matter expert, partnering with employees, contractors, and leadership to drive a proactive safety culture. This role combines program development, audits, training, and contractor oversight to continuously improve safety performance.

What You'll Do9

  • 1Build and maintain site EHS policies and programs including HAZCOM LOTO confined space PPE and emergency response to minimize risk.
  • 2Audit facilities, conduct risk assessments, and lead incident investigations with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • 3Deliver EHS training for employees contractors and visitors ensuring records are current and complete.
  • 4Lead safety culture initiatives coaching frontline teams and promoting behavior based safety.
  • 5Oversee hazardous waste storage handling disposal and regulatory compliance including RCRA and related requirements.
  • 6Manage regulator relationships ensure permits documentation and reports are accurate and timely.
  • 7Oversee safety practices of suppliers and contractors ensuring site policy and regulatory compliance.
  • 8Monitor safety metrics analyze trends and implement data driven improvements to reduce incidents.
  • 9Collaborate with leadership to implement continuous improvement projects that lower environmental impact.

Requirements6

  • 1Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety Engineering or related field
  • 2Minimum 5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing industrial construction or similar settings
  • 3Strong knowledge of OSHA standards 1910 1926 and applicable EPA regulations
  • 4CSP ASP CHMM or similar certification highly desirable
  • 5Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage frontline workers contractors and senior leaders
  • 6Proficiency with EHS management software and Microsoft Office Suite
