What You'll Do21
- 1Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions through surveys and on-site inspections
- 2Implement controls and measure effectiveness of hazard control systems
- 3Manage workers compensation programs and premium financial controls
- 4Conduct pre-employment drug testing and facilitate new hire orientation
- 5Direct safety committee meetings and coordinate department leadership sessions
- 6Compile statistical data for accident analysis and provide corrective recommendations
- 7Administer workers’ compensation programs and private insurance
- 8Lead EHS facility including budgeting and compliance tracking
- 9Coordinate first responder training and maintain response team coverage
- 10Escalate EHS concerns to senior leadership for planning and mitigation
- 11Act as primary contact for labor investigations and agency relations
- 12Encourage team participation in safety culture through toolbox talks
- 13Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and stewardship principles
- 14Oversee hazardous waste programs and confined space entry requirements
- 15Maintain safety training credentials and recommend protective equipment purchases
- 16Recruit, train, and perform performance management of EHS technicians
- 17Develop and deliver occupational health and safety training programs
- 18Perform data analysis to recommend process improvements
- 19Work flexible manufacturing environment with lean techniques
- 20Collaborate with production leadership as coach and partner
- 21Lead small team of EHS specialists with recruitment and coaching responsibilities

- 1Independent judgment and decision-making capabilities
- 2Strong communication skills for presentations and report writing
- 3Ability to lead and direct teams in manufacturing settings
- 4Experience with Lean manufacturing techniques
- 5Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Power BI
- 6Knowledge of health safety environmental compliance standards
- 7Minimum 5 years experience in safety engineering or industrial hygiene
- 8Minimum 3 years managing workers compensation systems
- 9Strategic planning ability for EHS improvements over 1-5 year horizon
- 10Experience analyzing data and making recommendations
- 11Physical ability to stand/sit for extended periods and lift 40 lbs
- 12Valid driver’s license and willingness to operate watercraft
- 13US citizenship and ITAR compliance
