Overview
Lead a specialized education program focused on perseverance achievement wellness and success for out of district and PAWS academy students. Manage staffing and placement processes while supporting district initiatives.
What You'll Do11
- 1Supervise and evaluate Special Education Staff for PAWS
- 2Coordinate out of District placements for the District
- 3Chairperson for Team meetings
- 4Oversee referral process and IEP adherence
- 5Ensure timely completion of required paperwork
- 6Implement services for identified special needs
- 7Assist with distribution of paraprofessionals and behavior technicians
- 8Schedule assignments of support staff according to IEPs
- 9Organize monthly special education staff meetings
- 10Provide professional development on instructional practices
- 11Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
Requirements10
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 2Master’s degree from an accredited institution
- 3DESE Certification as Special Education Administrator or Director/Supervisor with Special Education Teacher License and SEI Endorsement
- 4Minimum of five (5) years experience as a Special Education Teacher
- 5Ability to organize and direct teams
- 6Demonstrated knowledge of Massachusetts and federal special education laws
- 7Knowledge of Individualized Education Programs and related IEP software
- 8Thorough understanding of learning disabilities
- 9Bilingual Spanish and/or Portuguese preferred
- 10Commitment to collaborative communication with school personnel and parents
