
Education Specialist (Special Education) - Envision Education
Overview
Lead special education services for middle and high school students at Impact Academy in Hayward, CA, as part of Envision Education, a network of four small schools in the Bay Area. Own case management for students with IEPs, coordinate service providers, and ensure procedural compliance. Collaborate with the School Psychologist and Associate Director of Special Education to drive student success. This role includes a $5,000 Special Education supplement and opportunities for leadership stipends, with a salary range of $63,672 - $102,546.
What You'll Do8
- 1Lead case management for students with IEPs, ensuring all goals and services align with each student's plan.
- 2Train and direct assigned Instructional Assistants to support student learning and IEP implementation.
- 3Coordinate service providers and schedule service minutes to meet each student's IEP requirements.
- 4Collaborate with the School Psychologist and Associate Director of Special Education to conduct assessments, prepare IEP reports, and safeguard procedural rights.
- 5Create and modify lesson, unit, and instruction plans, implementing accommodations and modifications for general education classrooms.
- 6Analyze student data regularly and devise strategies to improve instruction and outcomes.
- 7Build strong relationships with families, especially Black, African American, Latine/a/o/x, and immigrant families.
- 8Lead IEP teams and facilitate IEP meetings with clarity and collaboration.
Requirements7
- 1Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree.
- 2Valid California Teaching Credential or out-of-state equivalent with ability to transfer.
- 3Demonstrated success working with parents and families, especially Black, African American, Latine/a/o/x, and immigrant families.
- 4Commitment to anti-racist and pro-Black leadership in the workplace.
- 5Commitment to the mission of Envision Education.
- 6Receptiveness to feedback and desire to continuously improve to meet outcomes.
- 7Once hired, continuous current California residency.
