Overview

Lead direct school-facing support ensuring strong implementation of special education programming across a portfolio of schools. Collaborate with Associate Director of Special Education to coach, solve problems, and provide day-to-day follow-through. Strengthen execution improve coordination and deliver high-quality aligned services for students with disabilities. This role transforms systems and expectations into daily practice for students with disabilities.

What You'll Do11

  • 1Provide direct support to school-based SPED Team Chairs Resource & Inclusion Teachers SDP teachers and school leaders across a portfolio of schools
  • 2Support implementation of instructional practices IEP systems accommodations and service delivery expectations
  • 3Assist schools in addressing day-to-day operational and student support challenges
  • 4Maintain consistent presence in schools to build relationships and support implementation quality
  • 5Implement inclusion-focused instructional models and aligned service delivery practices
  • 6Reinforce organizational expectations around IEP quality instructional alignment and student support coordination
  • 7Assist with rollout of SPED tools resources systems and initiatives across schools
  • 8Support onboarding and training efforts for school-based SPED staff
  • 9Monitor compliance timelines documentation service delivery and implementation expectations
  • 10Identify implementation concerns and escalate issues to the Associate Director as needed
  • 11Partner with portfolio and regional team members to ensure coordinated support across schools

Requirements6

  • 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
  • 2Valid California credential for Preliminary or Clear Education Specialist with Autism Authorization Moderate/Severe Support Needs or Extensive Support Needs
  • 3Minimum of 4 years of highly effective teaching and case management experience demonstrating strong track record of student performance gains
  • 4Leadership and coaching experience required including instructional coaching hiring and directly managing adults
  • 5Knowledge of LAUSD special education policy and Welligent
  • 6Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree with emphasis in special education highly preferred
