ECE Paraeducator, Early Childhood Education
Overview
You will assist Early Childhood teachers in the education, care, and supervision of pre-school aged children at the Strauch center. You will prepare classroom materials, manage forms, and support play-oriented curriculum development. Working with a dedicated team of educators and support staff, you will contribute to a nurturing environment for children. This 4-hour/day part-time role offers flexibility and the chance to impact young learners.
What You'll Do8
- 1Assist teachers in delivering play-based instruction to pre-school aged children in classrooms and playgrounds.
- 2Prepare and maintain classroom environments, materials, and activity stations for daily lessons.
- 3Supervise children during activities, meals, and transitions to ensure safety and engagement.
- 4Support the implementation of individualized education plans and behavior guidance strategies.
- 5Document child progress, attendance, and developmental milestones for teacher review.
- 6Communicate with parents and caregivers about daily activities and child needs as directed.
- 7Adapt activities for children with diverse needs to promote inclusive participation.
- 8Maintain compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations during all interactions.
Requirements7
- 1High School diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
- 26 college units in Early Child Development or Early Childhood Education with focus on infant to pre-school age.
- 348 college semester units or successful passage of the Paraeducator Proficiency Exam for NCLB compliance.
- 41 year experience in a preschool enrichment or child care setting preferred.
- 5Valid CPR/First Aid certification with pediatric endorsement.
- 6May require a valid driver's license for transportation of children or materials.
- 7Must submit transcripts, CPR/First Aid card, proof of HS graduation, and resume.
