DOT Truck Driver, Class A CDL & Supply Chain
Overview
Operate company owned or leased trucks to deliver, pick up, and relocate product and materials across Propak's supply chain network. You will report to the Fleet Supervisor or Regional Fleet Manager and own daily yard checks, trailer movements, and documentation. Work with dock side supervisors to assess inbound and outbound schedules and verify inventory loads. This role offers Class A CDL driving with DOT compliance and potential cross-training as a forklift operator during downtime.
What You'll Do10
- 1Operate Class A commercial vehicles to facilitate delivery, pickup, and relocation of product and materials.
- 2Obey traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures for safe driving.
- 3Inspect and maintain vehicle supplies and equipment including gas, oil, water, tires, lights, and brakes to ensure safe working condition.
- 4Report any mechanical problems encountered with vehicles to the supervisor.
- 5Record all moves on the trailer movement log to ensure accurate documentation.
- 6Communicate with dock side supervisor to assess inbound and outbound schedules for the site.
- 7Verify inventory loads against shipping papers to ensure accuracy.
- 8Ensure all trailers are chocked before disengaging and all doors are fastened before backing into dock doors.
- 9Perform daily yard checks to maintain a neat and orderly trailer yard.
- 10Assist as a forklift driver or sorter during downtime or as production needs require.
Requirements7
- 13+ years experience driving commercial vehicles.
- 2Valid Class A commercial motor vehicle operator's license issued by state of residency.
- 3Pass DOT medical examination and complete all pre-employment and continual employment screenings.
- 4Be 25 years of age or older.
- 5Ability to read and speak the English language.
- 6Ability to perform heavy manual tasks under varying weather conditions.
- 7High school diploma or equivalent.
