Distribution Technician, Hospital Laundry Services
Overview
You will own the daily linen exchange across hospital units, moving up to 250 pounds of carts and ensuring par levels are met on a set schedule. You'll report to the Distribution Supervisor and coordinate with nursing staff to keep every floor stocked. This role stands out because you'll gain hands-on experience in hospital logistics and customer service, working directly in a cooperative laundry serving Colorado and Southern Wyoming.
What You'll Do10
- 1Deliver all linen exchange carts to each linen use area on a pre-set facility delivery schedule.
- 2Return unused linen from previous day's stock carts to the facilities' linen room.
- 3Record all unused linen on the HCL 'Take-Up and Return' form, including date, initials, and unit account number.
- 4Stock to par levels all ancillary linen areas daily or on a pre-set schedule.
- 5Place bulk linen orders daily in a timely manner.
- 6Cancel carts and general linens when appropriate.
- 7Record excess linen in the facility and return it to the HCL plant.
- 8Answer calls to the hospital linen room telephone and check voice mail every 20 minutes, promptly returning calls.
- 9Perform data entry for the HCL daily call log and maintain accurate records.
- 10Follow HCL attendance guidelines and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements9
- 11+ years of experience in a similar role or ability to demonstrate skills after proper training.
- 2Must be able to pull 10-20 pounds.
- 3Must be able to push carts up to 100+ pounds using the buddy system.
- 4Must be able to move rolling carts up to 250 pounds.
- 5Must be able to lift weights up to 40 pounds.
- 6Must be able to twist repeatedly and bend constantly without a lifting table.
- 7Must be able to reach and grip repeatedly.
- 8Must be able to stand for an entire 8 or 10 hour shift.
- 9Must have reliable attendance and punctuality.
