Disaster Recovery Senior Analyst
Overview
You will own the disaster recovery program, driving standardization and governance for evolving DR standards in a zero downtime environment. Reporting through Apex Systems, you will engage with cross-functional teams across AWS, Azure, and VMware to modernize recovery capabilities. This role transitions the organization from reactive recovery to proactive resilience, with a focus on measurable uptime.
What You'll Do8
- 1Drive DR standards across AWS, Azure, and VMware environments, defining recovery objectives and runbooks.
- 2Lead governance forums with engineering, operations, and security teams to enforce DR policies and control gaps.
- 3Build and maintain recovery runbooks for critical services, automating failover testing with Terraform and Ansible.
- 4Coordinate quarterly failover exercises, documenting results and driving corrective actions with engineering owners.
- 5Own the DR tooling roadmap, evaluating and piloting CloudEndure and Zerto for continuous replication.
- 6Define and track DR metrics, presenting recovery readiness dashboards to leadership monthly.
- 7Collaborate with application teams to classify criticality and set RTO/RPO targets, aligning with business priorities.
- 8Mentor junior analysts on DR methodologies and tooling, raising the bar for operational discipline.
Requirements7
- 15+ years in disaster recovery, business continuity, or infrastructure resilience roles.
- 23+ years managing DR programs with AWS and Azure cloud services.
- 3Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization and replication technologies.
- 4Experience with Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure automation.
- 5Familiarity with CloudEndure or Zerto for disaster recovery orchestration.
- 6Strong project management skills with a track record of driving cross-functional initiatives.
- 7Relevant certifications such as CBCP, CISA, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect preferred.
Salary Insight
$156 - $187k per year
