Director Risk Management LOD1 Early Warning Services
Overview
Early Warning seeks a Director to lead its Payments and Risk Products business lines. The role builds and manages a centralized LOD1 risk program aligned with the 3LOD framework. Responsibilities include aligning with Enterprise Risk Management, overseeing third‑party relationships, designing process maps, maintaining inventories, and driving executive reporting. This position differs by focusing on risk ownership education and continuous control testing.
What You'll Do11
- 1Build and manage the business line’s centralized LOD1 function including strategic vision and implementation plans acting as liaison to Enterprise Risk Management Operational Risk Management and Compliance
- 2Partner with Compliance and other Risk functions to understand regulations assess business impact and drive projects addressing changes
- 3Lead Risk and Control Self Assessments in collaboration with Enterprise Risk Management
- 4Oversee third‑party relationships monitoring performance and risk management
- 5Design and maintain process maps and inventories aligned with the Process Classification Framework
- 6Own and report KPIs and KRIs demonstrating control effectiveness
- 7Identify and self‑report issues through the ERM Self‑Identified Issue Process ensuring timely remediation
- 8Support the Risk Acceptance Forms process when applicable
- 9Drive executive level reporting on risk management activities
- 10Develop a 1st LOD risk management governance process across business lines
- 11Lead a team of risk professionals and monitor updates to the control environment
Requirements9
- 1Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Finance Accounting or related field with minimum 12 years progressive experience in financial services or a three‑lines of defense program
- 2Proven success leading risk functions in a 3LOD environment and ability to thrive in a complex regulated setting
- 3Background in model risk management and first line support for Chief Data Office preferred
- 4Working knowledge of regulatory requirements specific to Payments and Risk products
- 5Excellent communication organization and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to collaborate and influence
- 6Physical ability to sit four hours daily occasional standing walking kneeling and lifting 10 pounds
- 7Strong written policy drafting skills and deep understanding of regulatory environment
- 8Experience interacting with executive management and proficiency with COSO Internal Control Integrated Framework
