Director of Marketing and Communications Near North Montessori School
Overview
Near North Montessori School seeks a Director of Marketing and Communications to lead strategic communications brand management and digital presence. This role reports to the Head of School and partners with key leadership to strengthen the school's reputation with families faculty staff alumni and community. The ideal candidate is a strong writer and strategic thinker comfortable behind a camera in design programs and managing website backends.
What You'll Do15
- 1Strategic Communications & Writing Develop and execute an annual marketing and communications strategy aligned with the school’s mission Montessori philosophy and enrollment goals
- 2Write edit and publish a weekly newsletter for parents/families
- 3Write edit and publish a separate weekly newsletter for teachers and staff
- 4Craft clear engaging copy for admissions and advancement materials announcements press releases and event communications
- 5Maintain a consistent institutional voice and brand standards across all communications
- 6Manage and grow the school’s social media accounts including content calendars posting and community engagement
- 7Monitor social media analytics and adjust strategy based on performance
- 8Respond to or route inquiries and comments in a timely professional manner
- 9Serve as webmaster maintain update and troubleshoot the school website ensure content accuracy functionality accessibility and SEO best practices
- 10Plan shoot and edit video content such as admissions features classroom highlights event recaps and testimonials
- 11Design print and digital materials such as flyers brochures invitations signage and social graphics
- 12Coordinate with IT or outside vendors as needed for technical issues or upgrades
- 13Collaborate with the Director of Institutional Advancement on advancement admissions and fundraising campaigns
- 14Support event promotion and communications for open houses fundraisers and community events
- 15Provide communications counsel and materials for crisis or sensitive topic messaging as needed
Requirements11
- 15+ years building ETL pipelines with Spark and Airflow
- 23-5 seasons leading marketing initiatives in educational settings
- 35+ years experience with Google Analytics and Social Media Dashboard tools
- 4Proven track record creating video content for educational institutions
- 5Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite or Canva
- 6Strong project management skills with ability to juggle multiple deadlines
- 7Familiarity with Montessori philosophy and terminology
- 8Experience in independent school nonprofit or mission driven organizations
- 9Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
- 10Creative problem solver who can execute independently and take initiative
- 11Ability to work across a wide age-range community from toddler through Grade 8
