Director of Manufacturing Finance, Defense Tech

You will own the budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for Engineering and Enablement at a defense startup shipping autonomous counter-drone systems to SOCOM and the U.S. Army, on a path to $1B in annual revenue. You will partner directly with functional leaders to ground spend and headcount in financial reality, and stand up the tools and cadence FP&A runs on. You will build and run the FP&A function at a defense startup producing autonomous counter-drone systems for SOCOM and the U.S. Army, on track to $1B in revenue. Reporting to the VP of FP&A, you will own financial planning, forecasting, and reporting while partnering with leaders across engineering, operations, and government contracts. This is a strategic build role offering the chance to shape the financial infrastructure of a high-growth, mission-driven company.

Own the financial strategy for a $15 billion physical AI company's defense division, partnering with the Head of Defense to shape pricing, investment, and major pursuit decisions. You'll sit on the Strategic Finance team and embed with the Defense organization, acting as the financial counterpart across product, engineering, and go-to-market. Build the models that connect price to cost and margin, guide multi-million-dollar proposals, and translate defense budget trends into actionable plans. This is a highly visible role at a pre-IPO company where you'll report financials to the executive team and Board. You'll bring rigor to ambiguous problems and help scale a business trusted by the U.S. military and its allies.

You will own the financial modeling and cross-functional projects that drive Standard Bots from prototype to high-volume production. Reporting to the VP of Operations, you will build margin models, ROI cases, and factory expansion plans that shape pricing and capital allocation. You will work directly with the executive team, including the Co-Founder who leads Finance, and partner with Hardware, Software, Manufacturing, and Quality. This role stands apart blending product economics, manufacturing finance, and sourcing analysis with the autonomy to drive high-impact decisions.

Own the full purchasing lifecycle for Machina Labs' Robocraftsman production team, sourcing build-to-print components and managing suppliers to keep aerospace and defense programs on schedule. You will execute day-to-day procurement, maintain MRP schedules, and drive supplier performance in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Finance to resolve issues, mitigate supply chain risks, and support production milestones. This role stands out for its direct impact on defense and advanced mobility programs backed by Lockheed Martin, Toyota, and NVIDIA.

Lead consolidated financial reporting and forecasting for hardware organizations. Deliver integrated P&L views across R&D Product Revenue COGS and OpEx. Establish and run financial operating cadence including monthly close forecasting and variance analysis. Serve as finance partner to hardware finance leads central FP&A and accounting. Design and manage consolidated forecasting and reporting models that integrate inputs from product finance revenue and r&d. Build and maintain hardware financial systems driving standardization automation and scalability. Own the hardware chart of accounts and financial structures. Provide executive-ready insights including variance explanations and forward-looking signals. Establish data governance and quality controls for trusted financial outputs. Support portfolio-level decisions by enabling consistent comparisons across hardware programs. Contribute to scaling hardware finance infrastructure.
